Portable Appliance Testing
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is the examination of electrical appliances and equipment to ensure they are safe to use. Generally, electrical safety defects can be found by visual examination but some types of defect can only be found by testing. At BCS Electrics, our standard process is to carry out both visual inspection as well as test the appliance to ensure we pick up on all types of electrical safety defects.
BCS Portable Appliance Testing services includes:
- Site visit and client consultation
- Visual inspection of all electrical appliances
- Full electrical testing
- Visual sticker to all appliances
- Certification
BCS Electrics use a check list as part of our electrical maintenance service. This includes an audit of all equipment, followed up by our visual inspection and testing process. Once equipment has passed the PAT, we then apply a visual sticker to remind you of the re test date.
We provide our customers with a certificate to complete the process and keep a report on file for our own records. This gives our customers the reassurance that all their portable appliances are safe, they are recorded as such and through our timely reminders, we are able to keep them up to date on regular inspection dates.
