Working alongside Conlon Construction, BCS Electrics was contracted to deliver a project for West Yorkshire Fire Services’ main headquarters. This was to replace low voltage sub mains then switch over to new electrical supplies in three buildings, as part of changes to the site.

The project included:

• Supply cables being installed by a utility company ready for BCS to install and terminate to distribution boards via new, current regulation switch gear.
• Ensuring all cables were then correctly relocated within HQ’s main switch room, Oakroyd Hall and stores building.
• Switching off power across West Yorkshire Fire Services’ buildings including main office, transport, training and staff areas for 12 hours over two consecutive Saturdays, to complete the work.
• Testing and switching power back on, ensuring minimum disruption to work and to allow West Yorkshire Fire Service to resume day to day operations as quickly as possible.

BCS Electrics engineers managed the entire project with Conlon Construction to ensure West Yorkshire Fire Service remained fully operational at peak times. More importantly, all those who worked on the assignment were safe in line with strict Health & Safety regulations.
